A NUMBER of Leeds United players professed to being ‘gutted’ by late developments at Molineux after revealing their thoughts on Twitter following the Whites’ roller-coaster 4-3 loss.

There was at least some consolidation for both Charlie Taylor and Kalvin Phillips, who both will have cause to remember the game in years to come.

Tadcaster lad Taylor crowned his impressive renaissance this year with United with his first senior goal for the club on 11 minutes, with his delight there for all to see.

Teenager Kalvin Phillips also had something to savour after being handed his United debut by head coach Neil Redfearn.

Taylor admitted to being delighted with his first goal in a Leeds jersey and thrilled for Phillips when he took to Twitter after the game, with Alex Mowatt, Lewis Cook, Sam Byram and Liam Cooper also congratulating Phillips on his maiden appearance for the club.

But equally there was a sense of dismay after Dave Edwards’ late goal denied Leeds a share of the spoils after a spirited performance against the in-form promotion chasers.

Here’s a selection of the Twitter reaction to yesterday’s game from United players.

@charlietaylor09 “Gutted not to get anything from the game today, but delighted to get my first goal!! Also buzzing for @Kalvinphillips on his debut!!!”
