Leeds United players auctioning their signed football boots to fund children's heart surgery

If you ever wanted to spend a day in the shoes of a Leeds United player - here's a chance to do quite literally that.

Several Whites players are auctioning off their signed football boots on eBay in aid of a brilliant cause.

The club is raising money for the Leeds-based Children's Heart Surgery Fund, which helps provide young people with treatment for life-threatening heart conditions.

The money raised from the auctioning of the boots, among which are those belonging to Kalvin Phillips and Pablo Hernandez, will fund a dialysis machine and a super life support machine for Leeds Children's Hospital's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Fans can bid for their favourite players boots online - but hurry, as the auction ends on Sunday, January 19.

The players who are giving away their boots include Patrick Bamford, Tyler Roberts, Stuart Dalla, Gjanni Alioski and Kiko Casilla.

Mateusz Klich, Gaetano Berardi, Barry Douglas, Helder Costa, Luke Ayling and Leif Davis have also put their boots up for auction.

The Leeds United CEO, Angus Kinnear, said: “I’m delighted we have chosen Children’s Heart Surgery Fund to be our charity partner, the work they do everyday literally helps to save lives and we want to be a part of that.

“We will work with them to raise as much money as possible with our incredible, loyal supporters that will not only help raise awareness about what they do but also support with a number of initiatives that will help to save the lives of these young heart patients and create the best environment for their families through some of the toughest times.”

Some 22,000 children and adults come through the heart specialist centre at Leeds each year.

The Children's Heart Surgery Fund provides innovative equipment, accommodation for families of heart surgery patients and also funds research into congenital heart disease.
