Radrizzani revealed at the back end of last year that he was mulling over a trio of investment proposals, one of which was from al-Khelaifi's Qatari Sports Investments.

United's owner has made no secret of the fact he is open to outside investment from the right suitors at the right time and the Italian sold a 10 per cent stake to 49ers Enterprises back in May 2018.

Radrizzani's friendship with Paris Saint-Germain president al-Khelaifi is well documented with the duo having worked together in the past on deals for football TV rights.

But speaking an interview with Italian Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Radrizzzani clarified the latest situation on rumours of QSI becoming involved in Leeds that have now hovered for the past year.

"These are rumours that have been ongoing for more than a year now," said the Whites chairman.

"What is true is that we have a great relationship on a personal level, there's a desire to do something together, maybe even in football, but there's nothing concrete at this time.

"In the last few weeks everything took a back seat.

"My desire is to have a great Leeds that is a protagonist in the Premier League and to do so we will need partners on top of the San Francisco 49ers.

"We'll evaluate this when we are in that league."
