Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Paraguayan striker Brian Montenegro on a season-long loan.

Montenegro completed his switch from Nacional - a top-flight club in Paraguay - this afternoon, taking United’s tally of summer signings to 15.

The 21-year-old, who spent a year on loan at West Ham United in 2011-12, could make the move permanent next summer after Leeds negotiated an option to take him full-time.

Montenegro is awaiting international clearance but will be in line to make his Leeds debut when the club play their next Championship game at Birmingham City on September 13.
