McCalmont has played a key role for the club's Under-23s outfit in recent seasons and was handed his senior debut last August against Salford City in the League Cup.

He also played under Marcelo Bielsa in the following round against Stoke City and was capped by Northern Ireland last September.

McCalmont follows a number of other youngsters who have committed their future to the club this summer with Oliver Casey, Bobby Kamwa, Jamie Shackleton and Mateusz Bogusz agreeing fresh terms.

Leeds have also bolstered their youth ranks with the arrivals of Wigan forward Joe Gelhardt and Fulham defender Cody Drameh.
