Lincoln City have agreed a deal to sign Leeds United academy striker Robbie McDaid on loan for the rest of the season.

McDaid trained with Lincoln today and is in the process of finalising a move which will earn him his first taste of senior football.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international has been at Leeds since March 2014, when he joined the club’s academy from Glenavon, but he is yet to feature for United’s first team and has played infrequently for the development squad this season.

Non-league Lincoln are eighth in the Vanarama National League, five points off a play-off position.

Lincoln manager Chris Moyses told the Lincolnshire Echo: “We’ve brought in Robbie McDaid from Leeds United. We just need to sort out the paperwork.”
