Massimo Cellino has declared that he has no plans to attend any Leeds United fixtures in the future.

The Italian owner was subject to considerable criticism during the game against Blackburn Rovers last Thursday.

A majority of fans in Elland Road that evening sang songs declaring that Cellino’s time at the club was up.

Cellino was seemingly disheartened by that turn of events, agreeing to sell the club to Leeds Fans United on Friday last week

He’s now confirmed his intention to no longer attend games, telling the club’s website: “It pains me to make this decision as I have put my heart and soul into this club.

“But what I was subjected to at the Blackburn game left me feeling like I had no other option but to take a step away.

“After the time, effort and emotion I have given to the club to try and enable us to move forward, it hurt me a lot to hear the fans singing what they did on Thursday night.

“The fans made it clear they believe I am no longer the best person for this job, and for the first time I am starting to think that they may be correct.”

Cellino has been suspended from running the club, pending an appeal.
