Leeds United make young patient's night with Newcastle United clash

Eight-year-old Jude Hawkridge was due to join Whites skipper Liam Cooper's football Academy but was then diagnosed with leukemia and the youngster is now having treatment in Sheffield Children's Hospital.

Leeds, though, are linking up with Jude via video link on an iPad prior to Wednesday evening's clash against the Magpies as the youngster becomes the club's latest virtual mascot.

The Whites also provided a special treat for a young Whites fan battling cancer via a virtual mascot experience before their Premier League clash against Arsenal at Elland Road.

Thirteen-year-old Elliot Metcalfe has always wanted to be a Leeds mascot and Whites skipper Cooper entered the pitch with an iPad with the captain Zooming the young Whites fan prior to kick-off.

Leeds carried out the heart-warming initiative through the Make A Wish Foundation.
