LEEDS United are set to make another addition to their scouting team with Gaby Ruiz listed as the club’s head of European recruitment.

Ruiz worked with United’s new director of football Victor Orta at Middlesbrough and is set to link back up with the Spaniard at Elland Road.

Ruiz is currently scouting the under-21s European Championship in Poland and his arrival will continue the restructure of United’s staff and backroom team following the resignation of former head coach Garry Monk who went on to become manager at Middlesbrough.

Leeds appointed former APOEL boss Thomas Christiansen as Monk’s successor last week and Christiansen has named Spaniard Julio Banuelos, formerly his number two at APOEL and AEK Larnaca, as his Elland Road assistant.

Leeds have also named Marcos Abad as their new goalkeeping coach after prior spells with Orta at Middlesbrough and Elche while Ivan Torres is joining the club as a fitness coach.

Pep Clotet, Monk’s assistant at Leeds, will be leaving the Whites but the Spaniard will not be joining Monk at Middlesbrough – though former Whites first-team coach James Beattie and goalkeeping coach Darryl Flahavan are expected to move to the Riverside.

The contracts of Clotet, Beattie and Flahavan end on June 30.
