The 23-year-old, who joined the club on a season-long loan from Chelsea last month, put on a strong showing in United's 4-3 friendly win at National League North side Guiseley on Thursday evening.

Baker has been joined at Thorp Arch by fellow Chelsea academy graduate Jamal Blackman with the pair the only two incomings in West Yorkshire so far this summer.

The midfielder though has revealed it has taken no time at all for him to feel at home and has already set his sights on achieving something memorable with Leeds this coming Championship campaign.

"I've come here with the intention to play," revealed Baker at Friday's kit launch.

"Hopefully the team gets promotion, that's what we want to fight for. We want to, and this is myself personally, go into every competition to win. It's a long season with a lot of games and we'll see what we can do.

"I've settled in really quickly so credit to the staff and players, pre-season has gone well I've got a few 90 minutes under my belt now so I'm feeling fit."

Despite Baker's aims of a return to the Premier League after a 14-year absence for the Whites he is under no illusions at how gruelling the season ahead will be.

"The Championship has a lot of good teams in it this season like it did last year," he continued.

"There's a lot of teams with experience and you've got a few coming down from the Premier League as well, we've got a good test for our first game of the season.

"There's still a couple of weeks left in the transfer window so we'll see what happens and who the club bring in."

Although the Blues loanee is just a month into his spell in West Yorkshire he also revealed that he had be struck by just how impressive the United fan base is: "I've heard a lot of good things about Leeds fans and it's great how many fans we've had going to the away games.

"Travelling as far as Oxford - they were making more noise than them - was impressive. I'm really excited and I can't wait to get playing at Elland Road."
