Carlos Corberan's Baggies were one of the few clubs not to suffer defeat at Leeds' hands last season, beating Farke's Whites at The Hawthorns and clinching a point in the earlier reverse fixture at Elland Road.
West Brom have dealt predominantly in free transfers and loan moves this summer whilst seeing the likes of Brandon Thomas-Asante, Conor Townsend and Okay Yokuslu move on for fees ranging from a reported £500,000 to £2.5 million.
Leeds have drawn considerably more from purchasing clubs with their sales of Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville, Glen Kamara and soon-to-be Brighton's new attacker Georginio Rutter. However, that has left the Whites squad looking rather thin.
Farke made eight changes for the midweek visit of Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup, admitting it was a risky ploy to disrupt the rhythm of his starting XI so early in the season as Leeds were taken to task during the second half.
The 47-year-old is likely to return to the line-up which featured from the start against Portsmouth last weekend, minus Georginio, which created plenty of chances and scored three goals as the Whites go in search of a much-needed three points to jump-start their 2024/25 campaign.
Here is the YEP's prediction for who'll be named in Farke's starting XI on Saturday lunchtime.

7. CM - Ilia Gruev
Joe Rothwell may have looked bright in the first half against Boro but Gruev appears to be the man Farke prefers alongside Ampadu for the time being. The Bulgarian was applauded by Farke for getting forward, as instructed, more often in Leeds' recent fixtures. Photo: Stu Forster

8. LW - Willy Gnonto
Off the mark for the season against Pompey, Gnonto is quickly becoming the crown jewel in this Leeds team given teammates Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter have all but moved on. | Danny Lawson Photo: Danny Lawson

9. RW: Dan James
The Welsh winger was rested on Wednesday night having been injured for a portion of pre-season, which can be interpreted as him being protected for a start again this weekend. Photo: Stu Forster

10. CF - Joel Piroe
Another who endured a tough night in the cup, Piroe can be expected to replace Georginio in the No. 10/CF role behind a more mobile frontman to lead the line. | Getty Images

11. ST - Mateo Joseph
Like James, Joseph sat out Wednesday's game, restricted to a watching brief from the bench. Given the fact Leeds failed to score against Boro, the Spaniard who looked sharp on the opening day should come straight back into the line-up. | Stu Forster Photo: Stu Forster
