York City 0 Leeds United 5 - player ratings, talking points and standout moments
Leeds United returned to action on Wednesday evening with a 5-0 victory over York City at Bootham Crescent.
Here, we pick out a number of player ratings, talking points and standout moments from the Whites opening pre-season friendly of the summer in case you missed the action.
5. Player rating
8/10 - Pablo Hernandez. The Spaniard was in scintillating form last season and picked up where he left off. City couldn't deal with his trickery and craft as he bagged a goal and two assists. A more central role this season?
There was no Kalvin Phillips in the line-up on Wednesday evening. The midfielder, though, is expected to feature at Guiseley on Thursday alongside the rest of the Whites first-teamers with two fixtures in the space of 24 hours.
7/10 - Pascal Struijk. He may have only been on the pitch 30 minutes but it was enough to make an impression as he bullied York's attack. He also got forward on the left of the back three, setting up chances in the latter stages.
Development signings Liam McCarron and Rafa Mujica featured on Wednesday. While there were also minutes for Oli Casey and Jack Jenkins, who will be relatively new faces for United's support stepping up from the Under-18s.
