Pompey boss Michael Appleton expects developments regarding Leeds United targets David Norris and Luke Varney this week.
Along with Varney, Norris also trained with Pompey yesterday (July 9) following their return to pre-season training.
Appleton said: “Their representatives are in discussions with various clubs and it’s just a matter of getting it over the line. It’s probably a couple of quid here or there to be sorted.
“I will be a bit surprised if they are still here beyond maybe Wednesday or Thursday.
“There is a realisation from everyone that the players need to leave for the club to move forward.”
United’s first-team squad are back in pre-season training at Thorp Arch tomorrow. (July 11)
United will be backed by a travelling army of 2,000 fans at Plainmoor for the friendly with Torquay United on July 27, with the club confirming they have now sold out their ticket allocation.
