The 27-year-old was ruled out of last Sunday's Yorkshire derby victory over Barnsley having failed a late fitness test at Oakwell.

Forshaw will now miss the clash with the Rams on Saturday lunchtime after succumbing to the same hip injury which saw him miss out against the Tykes.

United academy product Jamie Shackleton stepped in against Daniel Stendel's men and is expected to start once again following an impressive display.

Luke Ayling will also continue to step up his own comeback with the Under-23s on Friday as Carlos Corberan's side travel to Hull City.

The right-back came through 45 minutes unscathed at Elland Road on Monday for the development side and is expected to feature at the KCOM stadium.

Other long-term absentee Tyler Roberts is now fully fit and available following a lengthy spell on the sidelines having been named as an unused substitute for the senior side last week.

Bielsa has no other injury concerns ahead of the showdown in LS11.
