TWO goals in the final 11 minutes from Dario Del Fabro and substitute Luke Parkin secured a 2-1 victory for Leeds United development squad against Brentford at Elland Road.
Del Fabro’s close-range header on 79 minutes following Adryan’s fine free-kick cancelled out Courtney Senior’s shock 61st-minute opener.
And Parkin’s near-post header following Chris Dawson’s corner six minutes later secured victory on a night when Leeds dominated.
United had the best chances in the first half and should have been rewarded with a goal on 19 minutes. Adryan’s tremendous strike shuddered the crossbar, with Brian Montenegro heading the rebound towards goal, with replays showing the ball had crossed the line when it was gathered by Bees keeper Mark Smith.
Kalvin Phillips also went close twice, with his low shot saved and another effort sailing just over. Phillips also sent Adryan clear, with the Brazilian denied by Smith’s legs, with his follow-up blocked.
The chances continued on the restart with Phillips firing at Smith before the visiting custodian made a fine save to deny Montenegro after a sweet move. But out of nothing, the Bees went in front when Senior fired home, but two late strikes ensured Leeds were deserved victors.
