LEEDS UNITED striker Lee Erwin has backed to be a success story at Bury - by Shakers boss David Flitcroft.

Erwin arrived on a one-month deal ahead of Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Wigan and made way for goalscorer Tom Pope after 53 minutes after a quiet debut.

Flitcroft stressed he only met his new team-mates the day before and is backing Erwin to deliver his best during his time over at Gigg Lane.

Flitcroft said: “He’s a player that’s got size and structure, and he can drive at you,” “He plays in that off-set position and likes coming inside to get shots off.

“But we didn’t have the ball enough on Saturday to really see the impact he can make.

“Like all loan players, it’s going to take a while for him to settle in, so we’ll keep working with him. There’s a lot more to come from him.”
