IT might not seem that way to fans at the moment but Leeds United supporters have had it easy in comparison to their Yorkshire club counterparts.

A study of results since 1888 has ranked each club’s results to produce a Fan Suffering Index table for all 92 League clubs at www.warrenunited.net.

Leeds fans may not have enjoyed their club’s decline in fortunes over recent years but they are historically the least long-suffering in Yorkshire, reveals the study.

“Football is meant to be the ‘glory game’”, says Simon Nye, lead writer of Warren United

“But for most fans it’s more about grief, pain and chronic disappointment.”

While fans of Leeds have been living the high life in the top two tiers, York City’s supporters have been named the most long-suffering fans in Yorkshire.
