Leeds United defender Luke Ayling named PFA Championship player of the month

Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has won December's Championship PFA player of the month award.

Ayling featured in six games across the busy festive period bagging one goal and two assists from right-back whilst helping the Whites to two clean sheets.

The 28-year-old's lone strike came in United's stunning 5-4 victory over Birmingham City at St Andrew's as he rifled a fine volley past goalkeeper Conor Trueman.

Ayling also grabbed an assist in that outing while his other came for Stuart Dallas' late equaliser against Preston North End on Boxing Day.
