What happened?

The Scottish Football Association organised three Hampden Park friendlies to celebrate the governing bodies 100 year anniversary since its formation.

Scotland welcomed England, Brazil and West Germany to Glasgow for the games.

On this day in 1973, the Brazilians were the visitors and it was quite the occasion as Scotland hosted the reigning World Cup holders in front of a bumper 78,181 crowd.

Leeds United had a presence with national team captain Billy Bremner and Joe Jordan featuring in the narrow 1-0 defeat while future Whites manager George Graham was also involved.

Willie Ormond saw his side defeated by a Derek Parlane own goal but earned a respectable result.
