NEIL REDFEARN has hinted at changes ahead of tonight’s home clash with promotion-chasing Norwich City.

The Leeds United head coach lambasted his side at half-time during Saturday’s tepid 2-1 defeat at home to Cardiff City and could include several young players in tonight’s squad after being critical of his senior players’ weekend performance.

Chris Dawson, Adryan, Brian Montenegro and Dario Del Fabio were all omitted from the development squad who drew 1-1 with Coventry City yesterday afternoon and could come into the equation.

With Lewis Cook still out injured and Rudy Austin suspended, Redfearn’s options are stretched in central midfield and Dawson – who has made two brief substitute appearances this term after making his debut two years ago – remains a viable option.

Redfearn, who will assess one or two players suffering from niggles and knocks, said: “The more of these young players I blood who get used to first-team football, the more they become part of the first-team squad next season and I think that is important.

“Young Dawson has gone really well in the under-21s. The only thing when you are putting young players in is that the balance of the team must be right.

“We have got to make sure they have an opportunity to shine and do well.

“Because if you put them all in together at once, you can dilute that chance and put them under pressure.”
