Lewis Cook was an unused substitute as England Under-19s won 2-0 against Macedonia.

This will come as welcome news to Leeds fans, with the midfielder potentially facing another two games before returning to West Yorkshire next Thursday.

England’s goals were scored by Coventry City loanee Adam Armstrong and Ipswich Town loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Liverpool’s Jordan Rossiter was selected to start ahead of Cook in midfield.

Cook is expected to be available for Leeds’ next game, at home against Brighton next Saturday.

The Whites will be hoping to arrest a slump in form that has seen them not win at home for ten games. Last weekend saw them lose 2-0 against Birmingham City at Elland Road.
