Ideguchi is due to undergo a medical with Leeds today before signing a four-year contract and completing a £500,000 move from Japanese club Gamba Osaka.

Leeds and Osaka have had an agreement in place for the past month and Ideguchi, a Japan international, will immediately join Spanish second division side Cultural Leonesa on loan until the end of the season.

United initially lined up a temporary switch to Leonesa amid doubts about Ideguchi’s ability to secure a work permit from the Football Association.

The 21-year-old is understood to have met the FA’s requirements but will still relocate to Spain with Leeds reluctant to throw him straight into their Championship campaign.

De Bock, however, is being lined up to strengthen Leeds’ defence for the second half of the campaign and looks increasingly likely to take up an offer from Elland Road.

United’s director of football, Victor Orta, has been in talks with Club Brugge for the past week but the sides are yet to finalise a fee.

Reports in Belgium, however, say the 25-year-old, a former Belgium Under-21 international, is preparing to leave Brugge’s winter training camp in Spain with a view to tying up a deal with Leeds.
