Have your say

Leeds United legend Brendan Ormsby answers your questions.

Hi Brendan, It finally seems we have the right man to manage the club in Brian – how pleased are you by the work he has done so far?.

First of all, I was so pleased Brian took over, having known him for 30-odd years when we were playing together for England youth.

He has been in the game a long time and worked in a number of roles at Reading and has a lot of contacts and knows what players he will need to get out of certain divisions.

I know he is very excited about being at Leeds and wants to be here and give us success and he also knows what it takes to build a club and Leeds really needed someone like him.

He is changing the style of football as well and the fans are appreciating that as well and we seem to be playing a lot more football on the ground, which is what most people want to see. Although we will not know until the season really starts in terms of how good the new players are.

But he wouldn’t have spent the money he did on Luke Murphy without knowing he was someone he could trust; the same with Noel Hunt. Hopefully, Matt Smith will also get some goals.

All the fans I have spoken to have said they like Brian. He comes across as a very genuine bloke. Let’s hope we get off to a good start and have a good season.

Brian is really putting his heart and soul into Leeds. I spoke to him a bit back and he did me a favour when I was working on the tours of Elland Road. He came out and signed autographs and had pictures with the people I was taking around and they loved it. I texted Brian to thank him and he said: ‘No, it was my pleasure.’

He is loving it being here and he knows how big this club is.

Yes, he knows there is a weight on his shoulders, but he is comfortable with that and just desperately wants to be the man to finally deliver real success for us.

I think Brian realises he’s at the biggest club he will manage and I just hope it goes well for him and for everyone for the club.

The fans really need something to cheer about because let’s face it, they haven’t had much to shout about in recent times.

They just keep coming back and spending their money, but they always will do.

Everyone knows the potential here and fans will come from not just all around the country, but all over the world to watch our games.

Quite often in the summer, many fans may moan about not coming to games, but they always seem to come in the end. Many tell me they will stop buying tickets, but I just always tell them: ‘You will be there at the start of next season.’

That’s simply because it is in their blood.
