Leeds United: Boss Bielsa let us off lightly '“ Tyler Roberts
Roberts said Bielsa had reacted calmly to Leeds’ heaviest defeat of the season last weekend and spared his players from any harsh words as they reflected on a poor performance at The Hawthorns. Leeds missed a chance to move back to the top of the Championship on Saturday as four second-half goals condemned Bielsa to his biggest loss as United’s boss.
The 63-year-old Argentinian has a reputation for exacting standards but he blamed himself publicly for Leeds’ third defeat of the term and refused to berate his side behind closed doors. Roberts, who appeared as a second-half substitute against the club who sold him to United in January, said: “I haven’t seen him blow up. He was okay after Saturday. He always shakes everyone’s hand when we come in from the pitch. It’s always the same, win or lose.

Roberts enjoyed a run of league starts under Bielsa in September and October, replacing the injured Kemar Roofe, and he scored three times to earn victories over Preston North End and Hull City.
The striker earned a first Wales cap two months ago and has been called up again by Ryan Giggs for Friday’s Nations League game against Denmark and a friendly in Albania on Tuesday.
Roberts said he had felt his game improve under Bielsa.
“He’s taught me a lot about runs in behind, staying up the pitch and making important movements,” Roberts said.
“He’s opened my eyes to another part of my game that maybe I didn’t see as well before.”
