A bookies has been winding up Leeds United fans on social media by jokingly tweeting that new Leeds United head coach Paul Heckingbottom has been given the boot.

The tweet, sent after the Whites' narrow 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United in Paul Heckingbottom's first game in charge, has caught the eye of many Leeds United fans.

The tweet said: "BREAKING: Leeds United have sacked Paul Heckingbottom"

Fans poured in to give the betting site a kicking, including 'Just a poor man's Paddy Power' and 'don't give up the day job'.

@TheBigPL said: "Hilarious. You’re no @paddypower. 2/10 for effort."

@Ephemeraljoy added: "Got any good material?"

In recent years, bookies have become well known among football fans on social media for posting joke tweets, GIFs and generally using the ups and downs of various clubs as the butt of their punchlines.

Of course, Paul Heckingbottom is very much still in position, despite Coral's spoof tweet.
