They are legends of Leeds United's historical past, but a host of star-studded names will once again grace the Elland Road pitch for charity.

As part of the club's ongoing celebrations during their centenary campaign, the West Yorkshire club have announced a very special one-off fundraising fixture in support of the Leeds United Foundation.

A select Whites XI will take on the Bayern Munich legends side in LS11 on March 28 (KO 15:00), during the spring international break.

It will be the first time the two sides have met since the infamous 1975 European Cup final in Paris, as Leeds were controversially beaten by their German counterparts - an occasion supporters still sing about on the terraces to this very day.

A host of Leeds legends will take to the pitch from the Champions League era including Olivier Dacourt, Lee Bowyer, Eirik Bakke, Ian Harte, Gary Kelly and Danny Mills.

Jermaine Beckford, Luciano Becchio and Andy Hughes will also feature from United's League One promotion-winning side along with boss Simon Grayson.

Other members of the squad will include Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Rob Green, Neil Sullivan, David Weatherall, Noel Whelan, Michael Brown, Micky Gray, Bobby Davison and Richard Cresswell.

The Leeds United XI will be co-managed by two of the most successful managers in the club’s history, Howard Wilkinson and David O’Leary.

“I’m really looking forward to what will be a really special day at Elland Road,” O’Leary said.

“The centenary events that have been organised by the club have been first class and it will be great to catch up with some familiar faces and a fantastic opportunity for the fans to come out and to raise money to support the great work the Leeds United Foundation does in the local community.”

Bayern Munich themselves will be bringing a host of big names with Brazilian World Cup winner Lucio, Carsten Jancker, Martin Demichelis, Ze Roberto and Giovane Elber all set to feature.

The two teams will be lead out by players from the Whites 1975 European Cup final team, including Peter Lorimer and Norman Hunter.

Tickets for the special one-off charity fixture are available to purchase immediately with kids prices starting from just £5 and adult tickets from £20.
