Raheem Sterling fired Pep Guardiola's side into a 17th-minute lead but record signing Rodrigo's first goal for the Whites drew Marcelo Bielsa's team level to secure a point.

Graham Smyth, the YEP's chief football writer, hands out the scores.

7 - Struggled with his distribution due to the City press at times. Made some saves, stuck at it with the ball at his feet and contributed to Leeds' improvement in possession. Photo by PAUL ELLIS/POOL/AFP via Getty Images.

7 - Sterling got the better of him a few times, particularly in the first half but he showed all of his experience, stuck to his man and still managed to get forward. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
8 - Kept the team on task when they were being pinned, stuck to the plan, defended stoutly against a nightmare attack. Photo by JASON CAIRNDUFF/POOL/AFP via Getty Images.
7 - Some of his decisions on the ball weren't great but stood up in defence to get a toe in time and time again. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
8 - Skinned by Mahrez early but that didn't dictate his afternoon. He battled, ran and was clever with the ball, helped Leeds break at pace. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
8 - Grew into the game. Was brushed off by Kevin De Bruyne early but worked hard to compete and settle, then improved steadily. Tackled cleverly, passed it well. Photo by JASON CAIRNDUFF/POOL/AFP via Getty Images.
8 - Couldn't keep De Bruyne quiet, the start to the first half was difficult but as it wore on and space opened up he shone in possession. Ran himself into the ground. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
8 - An outlet, backed himself with the ball and enjoyed space. Linked up with midfielders well. Photo by Catherine Ivill/Getty Images.
6 - Withdrawn at half-time after a difficult first half. Couldn't give Leeds a consistent outlet. Didn't take a big chance that came his way. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
6 - Unable to give Leeds a presence or an outlet. Showed his skill with one nice pass to put Dallas in, otherwise too quiet. Photo by Jason Cairnduff - Pool/Getty Images.
8 - Tireless, clever on the ball, battled in the air. Did well from defensive set-pieces, worked back and put a huge effort in. Photo by PAUL ELLIS/POOL/AFP via Getty Images.
9 - Leeds had so much more of a presence in attacking midfield with him as the 10. Clever touches, nice passes, dribbles and shots aside, he worked to get back too. Off the mark with a poacher's goal. Photo by Catherine Ivill/Getty Images.
8 - Gave Mendy a horrible time of it running down the line but showed he's not a one-trick pony with some nice passes and balls in behind. Photo by JASON CAIRNDUFF/POOL/AFP via Getty Images.
N/A - a difficult game to come into, against a class player in Bernardo Silva. Struggled to contain his man but battled to stay with him. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
