Leeds scaffolders erect huge Leeds United themed structure in Manchester Deansgate

Brecks Scaffolding Services Ltd were working on an emergency job for Lenica Building Solutions Ltd in Deansgate, managing director Christopher Best told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

As both the company and client are huge Leeds fans, Christopher said the scaffolders decided on the famous Leeds United colours to net the scaffold.

After posting pictures of the scaffold on social media, Christopher and his team has seen a huge response of elated Leeds fans.

Managing Director Christopher Best told the YEP: "We, Brecks Scaffolding Services Ltd, have worked alongside Lenica Building Solutions Ltd for approximately eight years and have grown a business relationship into a close friendly relationship.

"We share the same company colours as we are all from Leeds and are Leeds fans.

"It just so happens we are working in the centre of Manchester.

"I told the client we could net it in the Leeds colours if you like as we are keen Leeds supporters."

Leeds United have a famous rivalry with Manchester United and many fans loved the cheeky display.

One Leeds fan said: "You can't get better than this.

"A great wind-up!"

Joel Best and Ashley James were the team that have been erecting the scaffold over the last four weeks, Christopher said.

He added: "The scaffold went up due to falling debris off the side of the building and was an emergency job so we’ve been working until 8pm on an evening to get this completed."
