STUART DALLAS says Leeds United will not hold back in tonight's new year showdown at free-scoring promotion rivals West Brom with Marcelo Bielsa's Whites intent on completing a brilliant Baggies double (kick-off 5.15pm).

Leeds are heading to The Hawthorns sat top of the Championship and above second-placed West Brom on goal difference with the pair having established a nine-point cushion in the division's two automatic promotion spots.

West Brom have the most potent attack in the division having netted 47 goals in 25 games - five more goals than Leeds - yet Northern Ireland international Dallas said there would be no conservative approach in taking on Slaven Bilic's side thinking about the possible advantages of even taking a draw.

Leeds moved top through Sunday's crazy 5-4 success at Birmingham City as West Brom lost for only the second time this season in being shocked 2-0 by visiting Middlesbrough.

United are the only other side to have beaten West Brom this season with Leeds 1-0 victors at Elland Road in October and Dallas said all eyes were now on winning in the Baggies' own backyard.

"It all points to being a good game but if we have to go there and try and grind out a result we will," Dallas told the YEP.

"We want to go there and win the game, of course we do. We are not going there to draw or sit back, we are going there to win the game.

"We were the only side to beat them until Sunday and they are a great side.

"They have got quality players all over the pitch, a great manager and they will be looking to bounce back."

West Brom won six games on the trot through November and early December as Leeds went one better by netting seven triumphs in a row but the Baggies have now savoured victory in just one of their last five.

Three of those games have ended in draws with the only win coming through a 3-2 success at second city rivals Birmingham City.

But Fulham are nine points away in third with another point back to both fourth-placed Brentford and fifth-placed Nottingham Forest with the latter also having a game in hand.

Assessing if Leeds and West Brom were definitely the best two teams in the division, Dallas reasoned: "The table says that but I think when you really look into the data there are other teams that are up there as well.

"You've got Fulham, you've got Brentford, you've got a lot of teams in and around that top eight or top ten that can go on a run.

"In this league we have seen that anybody can beat anybody.

"Certainly we are in a good place at the minute but we are not getting carried away from the work that we have to do."

Tonight's contest will also see United take in a fourth game in 12 days but Dallas said: "We have prepared for this all season.

"This isn't a surprise, we play in the Championship every year, we know what it's like, we know what we have to do, we know how to prepare.

"The background team that we have prepare us in the best possible way, they give us everything we need and then you have to take a certain responsibility yourself and be prepared, do what you need to do away from the club.

"The team here can only give you so much and you have got to be professional and take it upon yourself to be in the best possible shape ready."
