Leeds will take on their Roses rivals on Wednesday, July 17 at Optus Stadium in Perth with the clash forming part of the club's pre-season tour of Australia that will then take in a fixture against A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers at the newly built Bankwest Stadium on Saturday, July 20.

The Red Devils encounter will be Leeds' pre-season highlight of the summer with the clubs meeting for the first time in seven years since Sir Alex Ferguson’s side recorded a 3-0 win at Elland Road in a Carling Cup tie on Tuesday, September 20 through a Michael Owen double and Ryan Giggs strike.

Twenty months earlier, Jermaine Beckford's strike famously recorded a 1-0 success at Old Trafford in the third round of the FA Cup.

Solskjaer, meanwhile, was involved in several battles against the Whites when Leeds were last in the Premier League before relegation in 2004 and the Norwegian manager is already relishing the prospect of again locking horns with the Whites.

"Games against Leeds United have always been huge for us," said Solskjaer, speaking on Manchester United's Facebook page.

"I've played in quite a few - both on-and-off the pitch there is some rivalry."

Only Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez is on national team duty for the Red Devils and Solskjaer added: "Summer has been kind to us - so we'll travel to Perth with the full first team squad.

"Everyone should be available to be picked - hopefully they're fit when they come back - so the first team is going to be there."
