There was a lot of optimism surrounding Garry Monks first game. Overall, it turned out to be a positive season for the Whites, but it started badly. Nedum Onuoha, Tjaronn Chery and Seb Polter breached the Whites' back four.
It proved to be a dramatic final 10 minutes against the eventual champions. A Mirco Antenucci header on 83 minutes looked to have given Uwe Rosler a winning start only for Sam Vokes to peg the Whites back almost immediately.
The Dave Hockaday reign was short and certainly wasnt sweet having got the sack after just six games. The first of his four defeats came at The Den after goals from Mark Beevers and Shaun Williams downed the Whites.
While Leeds went on to secure their first of two consecutive 15th place finishes, the season kicked off in dramatic fashion as a late winner from Luke Murphy, on his debut saw the Whites fight back from 1-0 down.
The campaign began on a good footing as a Neil Warnock side, full of new additions, beat Wolves courtesy of Luciano Becchio. A promotion push was not to be on the cards, though, as Warnock led Leeds into relegation trouble.
Leeds were outplayed at the newly-promoted Saints as Max Gradel could only grab a consolation goal in the 94th minute. Maybe the results had something to do with THAT social media ban Simon Grayson implemented
In their first season back in the Championship after a three-year absence, Derby inflicted Leeds first opening day defeat in 21 years after a Luciano Becchio equaliser was cancelled out by a Kris Commons penalty.
The Whites kick-started a memorable League One promotion campaign with a somewhat memorable win after Jermaine Beckford headed home his second of the afternoon on 88 minutes to give his side a priceless winning start.
While Leeds fought back 1-0 down to win at Glanford Park following goals from Enoch Showunmi and Jermaine Beckford, Scunthorpe achieved what the Whites couldnt - promotion through the play-offs...
Having just been relegated from the Championship, Dennis Wise and co showed the fighting spirit required after a late strike from Tresor Kandol saw Leeds overturn a 1-0 goal deficit.
A few months prior, Leeds were on the brink of a return to the Premier League and a David Healy goal against Norwich suggested another promotion challenge was inbound. Instead, we all know what happened. Lets not talk about it!
Kenny Blackwell believed Millwall were desperate to knock Leeds off their perch - but they failed to do so as David Healy netted a brace in a game which included a screamer from Don Hutchinson.
