The Seagulls head coach addressed some of the media speculation that has linked White with a January move to another Premier League club, with Liverpool one of those said to be keen on the centre-half.

“There is all sorts of talk, as we know," he said. "But the reality of it is he is our player and he has got a future with us and we are looking forward to having him back at the right time and go from there. He is a player we like a lot.

"If you see how he plays, the attributes he has fit us. He is at Leeds now. He is on loan. You let that run and settle down at the end of the season. He is at Leeds and doing a good job there.”

White, reportedly valued at over £20m by his parent club, has played in all 22 of Leeds' fixtures this season, catching the eye with his cool displays in the heart of the defence.

Bielsa's men picked up their 12th clean sheet of the campaign on Saturday at Huddersfield Town, when White had to play a slightly different role, covering for the suspended Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips' return tonight for the home game against Hull City will see White return to his natural position.
