That's right, everyone's favourite management sim has picked the Leeds United star as its most highly rated player for the EFL 2019-20 season.

The EFL made the announcement on Saturday morning - prompting praise from fans.

Beverly Golesworthy added: "And a local boy too, does the city proud."

And to those calling for Phillips to move on, Andrew Devine had the answer. He said: "He's a Leeds lad. Leeds are 11th biggest club in English football. Leeds are going up. Hes in the right place."

On Thursday, it was revealed that the EFL is working on plans to play the rest of the season behind closed doors, packing all the remaining fixtures into just 56 days.That timeframe – which equates to just eight weeks – would see all remaining Championship fixtures, plus the play-offs, completed. Leeds United currently have nine games remaining in their league campaign and hope to secure promotion automatically.
