Jack Harrison says Leeds United must keep their heads 'screwed on' after a stunning 3-0 victory over Fulham at Elland Road.

The Whites landed a blow to Scott Parker's Cottagers in the Championship promotion race on Saturday afternoon as Patrick Bamford, Gjanni Alioski and Harrison all struck to seal the points in LS11.

United hit the summit of the table with the win as they leapfrogged West Bromwich Albion - who lost to Brentford on Friday night - into top spot.

Crucially, though, Marcelo Bielsa's men opened up an eight point gap over the third-placed Bees while leaving Fulham 10 points behind in fourth with just seven games of the campaign remaining.

Leeds took the lead after just 10 minutes but had to hold off a fightback from the visitors before tactical changes at the break - including the introduction of Pablo Hernandez - saw the Whites secure an important win.

United winger Harrison, though, believes it is not the time to get carried away in their quest for top flight football.

"We just have to keep our heads screwed on and make sure we don't get carried away," Harrison told Sky Sports.

"We can't let the confidence get too excessive and we must keep taking it game by game. We know how important it is and how competitive this league can be.

"We have to stay focused. We knew it was a massive game going into it. After last week we had a disappointing result so we wanted to redeem ourselves.

"We knew how important it was to come out strong and get the result which is exactly what we did today.

"We know a team like Fulham have got a lot of talent. We know they can be a threat at any time so we had to make sure we controlled that. We had to get our pressing and defending right which is why we made the changes at half-time.

"Once we came out strong in the second half and controlled the pressing we found it easier to control the game and see it out."

Asked about the introduction of Hernandez who provided a wonderful assist for his goal, Harrison said: "He's fantastic. He's always been like that.

"He's always a player who has great vision in the game. We can always rely on him to make passes like that in a game like this.

"He's had a great impact on us and he showed his ability."
