United are finally heading for top-flight football for the first time since the club's relegation in May 2004 having stormed to the Championship title in finishing ten points clear of runners-up West Brom.

After a tense midweek victory at home to Barnsley in another game played behind closed doors in the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, United's promotion was secured when second-placed West Brom lost a Friday night fixture at Huddersfield Town.

Thousands of Whites fans then flocked to United's famous home to celebrate in front of United's players who were inside Elland Road.

Leeds were then crowned champions the following day as third-placed Brentford suffered a 1-0 defeat at Stoke City and many United fans again partied outside of Elland Road four days later as United received the Championship trophy following their season finale 4-0 win at home to Charlton Athletic.

But whilst admitting the celebratory scenes were like nothing he had ever witnessed, Harrison says it is know up to his side to create more special memories in the country's top flight ahead of the new 2020-21 season which will begin over the weekend of September 12.

Reflecting on the scenes that followed promotion and then United's title triumph, Harrison admitted to BBC Radio Leeds: "I have never experienced anything like that in my life.

"I have always seen it on videos and stuff but to experience it in real life and in person it was completely different.

"It was something special and you can see how much it means to not only the team but the fans and everyone who is part of the club.

"You can see how passionate they all are about the team doing well and to get back to where they belong in the Premier League.

"I think once we are there now we have to continue to find ways to make everybody happy and relive those moments again."

United's last nine games were all played behind closed doors due to the ongoing fight against COVID-19 which caused the Championship season to be suspended for 15 weeks.

Harrison, though, says his men were always fully focused on completing the task of promotion to the country's top flight.

"It was definitely bizarre," said the winger.

"But I think with the mentality that we have as a team and from the coaching staff we have always been on the right track even throughout lockdown.

"As we were coming back we were more than prepared to get the job done and finish it off properly and get promoted and that's what we did so.

"We had that right mentality as a team, if we can take that going forward to the Premier League hopefully we can do well."
