How the bookies expect Leeds United to fare in the Premier League with Whites big drifters for victory at Derby County

LEEDS United have drifted from odds-on to odds against for victory in Sunday's clash at Derby County with promotion and the Championship title already in the bag.

With Premier League football now assured, betting firm SkyBet have already created some 'Leeds United Specials' ahead of the 2020-21 campaign with the Whites expected to consolidate their top-flight status with a safe finish in the bottom half.

As far as today's clash at Derby is concerned, United were a best-priced 4-5 before sealing promotion on Friday night without even playing as second-placed West Brom lost at Huddersfield Town.

Leeds were then crowned champions the following day as third-placed Brentford also fell to a defeat at Stoke City making the clash at Pride Park a dead rubber as far as United's league position is concerned.

The Whites are now consequently as big as 29-20 to beat the Rams whose odds have shortened from 7-2 to 2-1 with the draw now 5-2 having been 3s.

United's no 9 Patrick Bamford remains favourite to score first at 5-1 but only marginally ahead of Derby forward Chris Martin who is next in the market at 13-2 followed by Rams top scorer Martyn Waghorn at 7s.

Wayne Rooney is as big as 11-1 to net first and behind Jack Marriott (17-2), Morgan Whittaker (9-1), Jahmal Hector-Ingram (9-1) and Tom Lawrence (10s) in the Rams goal threat order and the same price as Louie Sibley.

A 1-1 draw is actually favourite in the correct score market at 6-1 followed by a 1-0 win for Leeds at 6-1.

But for United attention is now already turning to next season and SkyBet have already formed several 'Leeds United Specials' ahead of the 2020-21 Premier League campaign.

The betting firm make United 1-6 to finish in the bottom half but 1-5 NOT to be relegated and 10-3 to go down.

The Whites are 7-2 for a top-half finish and 14-1 to end up in the top six while Leeds can be backed at 28-1 to win a trophy next season and 16-1 to finish above arch rivals Manchester United.

The Whites are 5-6 to finish above Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield United whilst Marcelo Bielsa is 10-1 to win a Premier League manager of the month award.

In a 'Bielsa v Guardiola' special, United are 100-1 to beat Manchester City home and away next term and 25-1 to record the same feat against Frank Lampard's Chelsea.

Kalvin Phillips is also firmly expected to net his first England call with the midfielder 1-4 to receive an England cap before the end of the 2020/21 Premier League season.

And as far as automatic promotion goes, United are now expected to be joined in the Premier League by West Brom who are back into long odds-on at 1-4 to finish second knowing that victory in Wednesday night's hosting of QPR will send them up.

Brentford are now out to 9-2 after fluffing their lines at Stoke with Thomas Frank's Bees one point behind the Baggies ahead of their Wednesday night finale at home to Barnsley.

Fulham, who are another point further back in fourth, are 50-1 for a top-two finish ahead of their final test at Wigan Athletic.

Leeds, though, are already up ahead of a rematch of last season's play-offs semi-final first leg with the picture rather different one year on.
