Kalvin Phillips says he is heartbroken after suffering a knee injury that has ruled him out for the rest of the season.

The Leeds United midfielder damaged his left knee in the 1-0 win over Swansea City last weekend and will now miss the final three games of the campaign.

Phillips emerged from the half-time break with heavy strapping on his leg for the second half at the Liberty Stadium before Pablo Hernandez bagged a dramatic late winner.

United have now revealed that he will be sidelined for the remainder of the Championship run-in after undergoing scans.

Phillips, though, took to social media to send a message to the Whites support and his team-mates.

"Heartbroken I will be missing the last three games of the season," Phillips wrote on his official Instagram page.

"Anyone that knows me knows it’s killed me that this unfortunate injury has happened. I am beyond gutted I can’t help the lads at such an important time on the pitch but I will make sure I’m there for everyone off the pitch!

"Still three massive games to go and we will need everyone to get to our goal.

"And for the majority of Leeds fans I can assure you I will be a nervous wreck watching just like the rest of you guys.

"One last push for everyone. TOGETHER."
