Gjanni Alioski says Marcelo Bielsa changed the spirit and mentality at Leeds United upon his arrival at the club over two years ago.

The Whites celebrated a return to the Premier League this weekend after a 16-year exile from the top flight was brought to a close.

Bielsa has helped turn the fortunes of the Elland Road club around since he was appointed into the LS11 hotseat in the summer of 2018.

Leeds were crowned champions ahead of Sunday's 3-1 victory over Derby County, and Alioski reflected on Bielsa's time in charge so far.

"I think he changed the mentality and the spirit," he revealed.

"The players wanted to win something. Every player followed what he wanted.

"We did it. If you don't and you don't believe you won't do it. Everyone believed and of course we had bad moments like last year.

"But if you believe you'll get your goal. He's a special man, we don't have a lot them. We always say thank you."

Asked about what promotion meant, he added: "This is an unbelievable feeling.

"The celebration, you can't buy it. It's one time. We need to just enjoy it. I don't have many words to explain how happy everyone is.

"You can't buy this happiness. You need to create it."
