All-time record goalscorer Pandev and long-serving manager Angelovski both took in their final games for their country in North Macedonia's third and final game of Euro 2020 against the Netherlands on Monday evening.

Pandev, 37, has netted 39 goals for his country but has now retired from international football whilst Angelovski is stepping down after six years in charge.

Alioski now needs to decide his own club future as the 29-year-old's Leeds contract expires next Wednesday but the Whites left back took to social media on Wednesday to salute his outgoing international colleagues.

"Guard of honour for our two legends," said Alioski.

"#GoranPandev, you have always been a true inspiration for me, and will always be one.

"#IgorAngelovski , in these 6 years together, you made us write history! Words alone cannot describe how grateful I feel to you. #thankyou #truelegend."

Alioski has yet to sign United's offer of a new deal, which remains on the table.

Leeds are adamant that Alioski is still very welcome to stay and would be open to further discussions with the player and his representatives.

Alioski has had interest from elsewhere, including from clubs in Turkey, and the Whites left back now has one final outing in the shop window as North Macedonia take on The Netherlands in their last European Championships fixture.

Reports in Turkey also suggest that Alioski has been offered a contract by CSKA Moscow.
