Whites head coach Marcelo Bielsa has named a strong side with Illan Meslier, skipper Liam Cooper, Luke Ayling, Mateusz Klich, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford all returning as part of six changes to the side.

Gaetano Berardi, who is facing up to nine months out with an ACL injury, is among those to drop out of the much changed side that lined up in Sunday's 3-1 win at Derby County.

Kiko Casilla is also not involved despite returning to the side in the victory at Pride Park in place of Meslier at Derby with Kamil Miazek the back-up keeper option.

Kalvin Phillips is also missing with a knee injury while Adam Forshaw is continuing his recovery from hip surgery and Helder Costa is again missing having suffered a kick to the ribs in the recent win against Barnsley.

Charlton boss and former United star Lee Bowyer has made one change to his side with Aiden McGeady coming in for the injured Jake Forster-Caskey.
