Marcelo Bielsa's Whites approach Wednesday evening's hosting of Newcastle United sat 14th after back-to-back defeats as part of a return of just four points from a last possible 18.

Leeds, though, are still six points clear of the dropzone having already amassed 14 points from their first 12 games and United's performances as a whole still has Robinson optimistic about the prospects of his former side achieving a top-half finish.

Asked where he thought Leeds would finish in the table this season as part of an interview with horseracing.net, Robinson said: “I have no doubt they will do well.

"They’re exceeding expectations already and I’ve previously said that they will finish tenth at the beginning of the season and I think they can achieve that, but sat here right now, like many of the Leeds fans, I’d be happy if they finished 17th.”
