Former England striker says Leeds United are 'definites' for promotion with Brentford fancied to pip West Brom for second

FORMER England striker and Sky pundit Darren Bent believes Leeds United are "definites" for promotion and that Brentford will pip West Brom for the Championship's second automatic promotion place.

Ahead of a full round of mid-week games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Marcelo Bielsa's Whites lead the division by a point ahead of second-placed West Brom with all sides having five games left.

Having won five games in a row, third-placed Brentford are five points behind the Baggies in third and Bent thinks the Bees will eventually finish in the top two along alongside Leeds with West Brom dropping out and heading for the play-offs.

“I think Leeds are going to finally get it done," said Bent, speaking on Sky Sports' The Football Show.

"You look at all the run-ins and Leeds have got the easiest.

“I know it’s the Championship and anything can happen but you have to fancy Leeds. I think they’ll get it done.

“West Brom beat Hull but I’ve got a sneaking suspicion Brentford are going to steal in and get that second spot.

“It’s so tight at the top. Leeds are the only definites for me and I think they’ll get promoted.”
