Former Barcelona youngster has sights set on Leeds United breakthrough

Leeds signed Mujica after his release from Barcelona in July 2019 with the attacker signing a three-year deal initially running until the summer of 2022.

Then 20, the forward joined Leeds having featured 33 times for Barcelona’s B team the previous season, netting seven goals.

Mujica then featured twice under Whites head coach Marcelo Bielsa in United's pre-season friendlies against York City and Tadcaster Albion before being sent on a season-long loan to Spanish Segunda División side Extremadura UD the following month.

Mujica then returned to Leeds in January before being sent back out on loan to Villarreal.

Asked as part of his Instagram story if he had thought about returning to Leeds next year, the 21-year-old said: "I have (a) contract there. I would like (to go) back and play with Leeds."

Mujica has played for Spain's under-19s, under-18s, and under-17s.
