The wedding finally went ahead last Wednesday after being postponed due to the pandemic.

Ellie performed with the Function Band for the couple and just 30 guests, in line with Covid restrictions.

It appears Ellie is now a Leeds United fan.

Ellie performed her cover of The Waterboys' song How Long Will I Love you for Luke and Poppy's first dance.

The Function Band, a group of DJs, vocalists and musicians, also performed at the wedding.

Dan Rosen, the band’s managing director, said: “The bride and groom contacted us on Instagram back in 2019 but because of coronavirus, the wedding was delayed.”

It was their first live performance at an event after 452 days.

Dan added: “It was emotional and phenomenal for the band to perform after so long, especially alongside Ellie Goulding.

“Considering that it was the first event in a long time for all 30 guests there, it was intimate and unique.

“We’ve performed with a lot of artists in the past but this was such a special performance and she was so lovely.”

The Function Band has worked with artists including Lewis Capaldi, Cliff Richard, The Wanted, Roger Tayler (Queen’s drummer), Fleur East and more.

Dan has been in the events industry for over 19 years and the band started around 13 years ago.

"But the last five or six years have been absolutely crazy," he added.

The band usually travelled abroad 50 times a year for performances before the pandemic.
