EFL reveal latest coronavirus test results as countdown continues to Leeds United resuming promotion bid

SIX individuals from four Championship clubs have tested positive for coronavirus as part of the EFL's latest round of testing in English football's second tier.

The latest round of COVID-19 testing saw 1192 players and club staff from the 24 Championship clubs tested over the course of Sunday, June 7, Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9.

Six individuals tested positive from four different clubs and those players or club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate in line with the guidelines provided by the EFL.

Only those who have tested negative will be permitted to enter training ground facilities.

Championship front-runners Leeds United will finally resume their promotion push with the clash at Cardiff City on Sunday, June 21.

As the fixture programme resumes, the EFL say they will make a central announcement of COVID-19 test results every Wednesday at midday to continue to support competition integrity and transparency.

No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the league.
