United accepted an invitation to play in the 2020/21 competition after the club's Academy achieved Category One status.

Category One Academy sides who feature in the EFL Trophy can field under-21 sides against League One and League Two opponents, with the chance to reach Wembley for the final.

The knockout stages will then start with the round of 32 on December 8 and 9.
