Leeds will finally return to action this weekend after what will have been a 15-week pause due to the coronavirus pandemic which caused the English football season to become suspended in March.

Championship leaders United will resume their promotion quest with Sunday lunch-time's clash at Cardiff City in the first of nine games left which will be squeezed into a four-and-a-half week period ending on Wednesday, July 22.

Leeds are one point ahead of second-placed West Brom with the Whites and Baggies holding commanding positions in the division's two automatic promotion spots with Fulham six points behind West Brom in third.

Kamara expects both United and Albion to see the job through and achieve automatic promotion and the former Whites midfielder thinks Leeds will take the title after being best suited by the near four month break in play.

Marcelo Bielsa's side spent the majority of last season in the Championship's automatic promotion places only to fall away in the final month to finish third before losing in the play-offs semi-finals to Derby County.

This time, though, Kamara thinks his former side will be going up in the ultimate style.

"I think it became pretty evident early on that Albion and Leeds are the best two teams in the Championship," Kamara told the Express & Star.

"There have been one or two chomping at their heels - Fulham to name one.

"But consistently those two teams have been the best.

"I have been really impressed with Albion and I fully expect them to go on and finish the job they have started.

"It's not a massive cushion they have got. They are just six points ahead of Fulham. But they have got some excellent players and an excellent manager.

"I think, when it comes to the title, Leeds may benefit more from the break we have had.

"If you look at them towards the end of last season – they ran out of puff a little bit. They weren’t firing at the end of the season like they were at the start of it.

"This break could be a massive benefit to them whereas I'm not sure how it will affect Albion.

"But I still expect them to make it. I'm confident they will be a Premier League side next year."
