Leeds go into the fixture on the back of last weekend's 1-0 success at Everton while Frank Lampard's side warmed up for the Whites clash with Wednesday night's 4-0 romp at Champions League Group stage hosts Sevilla in which OIivier Giroud bagged a four-timer.

Four points from last two games, two clean sheets, how pleased are you defensively and is Llorente back?

"The defensive performance of the last two games it was better against Arsenal than it was against Everton. Against Arsenal we encountered not a lot of danger and against Everton we conceded some chances which could have resulted in goals.

"In relation to Llorente he is healthy, he is in conditions to play and the ideal thing would be for him to play with the under 23s before he plays with the first team because it has been a while since he has played now but we will see.

"We hope we don't have a necessary situation which means that we have to accelerate his process into the team."

On Phillips - has he benefited from the enforced break?

"I can't tell you with certainty whether his two performances coming back were linked to the fact that he was out for a month."

On Cristiano Ronaldo scoring 750 goals

"It is an achievement that is very difficult to achieve. It talks about he qualities that Cristiano Ronaldo has and it shows his professionalism as he has ben able to prolong his career given how professional he has been throughout."

On concussion - would you like to see the introduction of concussion substitutes?

"I think that people that evaluate these situations will have a lot more data on this as to whether this would be something."

On Pablo, Shackleton and Forshaw

"When a player goes so long without playing, one of the ways to help his recovery is to propose an activity similar to games in the Premier League - knowing that you can manage his game time and at the levels a little bit lower.

"This is the ideal process especially when players have repeat muscular injuries which is the case of Pablo, Shackleton and Llorente.

"But this is also conditioned to the needs of the team.

"If the player is healthy and the necessity of the team requires him you may have to call on a player who is healthy but maybe he is not ready sportingly.

"But if you can do it in a more progressive manner it is better because the player's performance will progressively improve whilst he is playing and this way you can verify whether he is completely healed as he will be able to manage the efforts but sometimes you can do it this way and sometimes you can't but always after the player is healthy."

Where is Forshaw in his recovery?

"He has highs and lows. But up until this point he hasn't been able to do any football practices."

On Raphinha

"He is a player with the capacity to unbalance a team individually. His physical qualities are good, he is a dynamic player, it is not difficult for him to go forward and come back or to get in behind and defend and the characteristics of the team coincide with his way of playing."

Overall assessment after ten games

"I am always a little reluctant to answer this question, if you observe we had a favourable start to the season where the goals that we conceded didn't really affect the result as we were scoring plenty and then there was a period where we conceded a lot of goals and we weren't very efficient in attack and the third period where we haven't conceded goals and we have created opportunities to deserve to win."

On Frank Lampard and Chelsea - perfected art of balance of defence and attack

"The description that you made is correct, the values that you analyse to describe a team of how they defend and how they attack and the way they return after both attacking and defending, in these factors in these values you always find Chelsea in favourable positions."

On history of Leeds v Chelsea

"For us every game in the Premier League is very attractive and every opponent renews the difficulties we have to face. And in the case of Chelsea this happens without doubt.

"With the added point that it is a traditional encounter even though it hasn't happened for a long time."

Can players that come in understand the cultural rivalries the same way that Phillips does or that you did at Newell's?

"I don't think there is a professional player that hasn't lived through a time where they have faced an opponent where it has increased their motivation or spirit for a certain game. The players that we have in this squad as a minimum have been there for almost three years and they know the fans well and this allows them to live what the fans want.

"From what I know, the players that arrived here this season they came here because of the fans, because of the way the fans lived the football."

On the loan players - happy with minutes and generally?

"We check to see how many minutes they are playing and the majority have managed to play a lot of minutes which allow their analysis to grow and this is very good for the players and for Leeds."

Alioski and Dallas swapping positions

"They both played the majority of the game on the left hand side, in this sector on the left hand there were three heights or levels, the height where Rodriguez moved, the level where Iwobi moved and the height or the level of the pitch where Godfrey arrived, There were combinations of movements there to attack and defend, the more advanced ones in Harrison and Raphinha and Alioski who is in front of Dallas and behind the winger and Dallas who was the furthest one back. The three of them had obligations to defend and attack and with the possibility to interchange functions and at the end of the game Dallas and Alioski started changing sides but this was a small portion of a game."

How enjoyable for you being against some of the best coaches and best teams in Europe?

"Always to play against those who are better is a challenge for whoever has to compete and it is a challenge to enjoy."

What does Phillips need to do to carry on improving?

"There's two parts, one is to recover the ball and after recovering it, manage the ball and the second part is to be able to move into positions where you can receive the ball and be able to distribute it and the more he moves to become free the more he will be able to shine."

On Lampard, did he get the wrong impression of you at first

"It was already resolved by the authorities how these actions need to be punished, They were analysed by people who needed to analyse them."

What did you learn from English football then?

"I didn't learn anything that I didn't know prior to that. I know the spirit of English football and the punishment I received according to what the authorities deemed, this indicates to me that it shouldn't be repeated and this is an aspect that can be deemed as something that I learned."

On nomination for FIFA Best Coach award

"I appreciate the distinction."

On not being able to watch teams since?

"I never consider until what is possible what is not allowed for me to do."

Relationship with Lampard? Is it good? Bad?

"It's not bad and the relationship I have with him is similar to the ones I have with the rest of my colleagues."

On Lampard's work at Chelsea?

"Frank Lampard, during last season he developed a lot of players that were already in the institution and this season he improved the composition of his team choosing players for the positions he deemed he needed. This is shown by the way the team is playing well and individuals of hierarchy and there are many different types of components in his team. There are young players who have developed, and there were signings with experience and signings with a big future but if you read what is written about Chelsea you will see and hear all of these things that I have mentioned."

How many hours of DVDs of Chelsea have you watched this week?

"As the competition goes on, it is ten games now, all the managers become knowledgeable about the other teams. Every manager in the Premier League can talk fundamentally about the other 19 teams."
