Carl Shutt memories - former Leeds United striker's best pictures from successful Elland Road spell

Former Leeds United striker Carl "Shutty" Shutt was a key member of Howard Wilkinson's 1992 First Division title-winning side.

Shutt signed for Leeds from Bristol City for £50,000 in 1989 and become known for his tireless running and determination up front - often being utilised as a substitute from United's bench.

He made 107 appearances across all competitions for the Elland Road club, scoring 25 goals before his eventual departure in 1993.

Shutt is best remembered for his goal against Stuttgart at the Nou Camp in a European Cup replay.

The striker was a sub for Eric Cantona and received the ball on halfway before playing a one-two with defender Tony Dorigo.

Shutt ignored the screams of club captain Gordon Strachan to run half the pitch and score to send Leeds through into the next round.
