The Brighton and Hove Albion defender has completed his season-long loan spell with the Whites, having helped them finish first in the Championship and 10 points clear of second-placed West Brom.

White picked up the club's Young Player of the Year award for his consistent performances in the heart of Marcelo Bielsa's backline, but also became a firm fan favourite and a much sought-after talent. Despite never having played as a high as the Championship he didn't miss a single minute of league action and alongside Liam Cooper formed a rock solid partnership upon which the title-winning campaign was built.

Tipped for England honours in the future, White has caught the eye of Premier League champions Liverpool and top flight giants like Manchester City.

Brighton insist the 22-year-old is going nowhere and have repeatedly issued statements to maintain he is part of their plans.

Leeds still harbour hopes of capturing White, who remains on modest wages at Brighton, on a permanent basis but know they couldn't match the spending power of some of his other suitors if it came to a bidding war. And if they did manage to prise him away from the Amex Stadium, it would take a significant portion, if not the lion's share, of Leeds' summer transfer budget.

Wherever his future lies, White says he will always cherish his time at Elland Road.

"Having had some time to reflect on what has been the most incredible season I wanted to take the time to thank everyone associated with Leeds United Football Club, including the incredible supporters," he said in an Instagram post.

"No matter what happens from here I will never forget the way you took me in and treated me as one of your own from day one. These memories and experiences will be with me forever. #MOT"

White spent the weekend on holiday with close friend and 2019/20 team-mate Kalvin Phillips, along with fellow Whites Ian Poveda and Tyler Roberts.

A number of his Whites team-mates responded to his Instagram message, including club captain Liam Cooper who replied: "Takes a special player to do what you have done. Be proud mate. Big things coming your way."
